The new face of popular TV Show ‘Cruising With”, Susan Calman is a Scottish comedian, writer and television presenter who has also written and appeared as a panellist on an array of BBC Radio 4 shows. Appearing in such shows as The News Quiz, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, Armchair Detectives and even starring on Strictly Come Dancing!
A handful of years ago, Susan Calman made her debut in the ‘Cruising With’ series, taking on an incredible cruising adventure as she took over the reins from Queen of Cruise, Jane McDonald (Cruising with Jane Mcdonald spanned impressive seven seasons, and took her across the world). Throughout the two series of Susan Calmans’s cruise programme, Susan takes viewers along on her journeys, from the bustling city of Barcelona, to the picturesque Halifax in Nova Scotia, sailing on a variety of cruise and river ships.
Cruising with Susan Calman Episodes
In season one of Cruising with Susan Calman there are six different episodes to enjoy; taking you on an adventure through a variety of destinations from the beautiful Canary Islands to Italy, the Caribbean and beyond. Across the season, Susan boards an array of ships, from large vessels to mid-sized cruise ships.
In season two, there are another six episodes, in which Susan explores another selection of breathtaking international destinations, from North America to Montenegro and The Netherlands aboard a variety of ships, from larger cruise ships to riverboats.

Cruising with Susan Calman Series 1
Episode 1
Starting off her new series of Cruising With Susan Calman, Susan begins her nautical journey to the beautiful Canary Islands, sailing onboard Regal Princess in which her first stop is the tropical island of Gran Canaria. In this two part adventure Susan gets involved in activities onboard Regal Princess such as quizzes, spa sessions, art classes and dances lessons. Once the ship hits the ports of call, she meets some of Gran Canaria’s world-famous drag queens and gets stuck in with local culture.
Gran Canaria is a fairy tale-like island that always feels like summer no matter the time of year. Its inviting beaches and natural scenery aren't the only things that are truly captivating, take for example the rich culture and history of the island just waiting to be uncovered. For those looking for a little cosmopolitan touch, the cities such as Las Palmas de Gran Canaria are full of surprises just waiting for you.

Episode 2
In the second episode, Susan leaves the Canaries behind to journey to the breathtaking island of Madeira where she continues her adventure onboard Regal Princess. While not on the ship, she gets stuck in with the life of the island including picking up speed on Madeira's famous toboggan run!
The Madeira city of Funchal has had a colourful history from its early days of fennel growing to the now rejuvenated cosmopolitan city that the modern people of Madeira live in today. The island is home to stunning hotels, beautiful beaches and outstanding weather all year round.
Episode 3
Susan now embarks on her second cruise onboard Harmony of the Seas where she travels to the wonderful city of Barcelona. Onboard Susan takes on the surf simulator then continues her water adventure in Barcelona by partaking in kayaking.
Barcelona is just brimming with things for people to do and see. The city is hugely creative and this is reflected by the artists and designers that are located there - with a whole world of fashion and sublime cuisine just waiting to be experienced!
Harmony of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet and is brimming with the cruise line’s fan favourites. With over 16 decks to explore, all of which are home to different forms of entertainment and attractions ranging from swimming pools and films to mouthwatering cuisine.
Episode 4
Next on Susan’s journey is the port of Civitavecchia in which she heads to Rome on a day excursion, leaving the Harmony of the Seas docked. Here she experiences everything that the Eternal City has to offer through a walking tour.
Meaning ‘Old Town’ Civitavecchia is a monument to the past and an icon to the modern. The city is home to many treasures of the past waiting for you to rediscover such as Forte Michelangelo or the La Scaglia Necropolis. It also boasts a number of beautiful beaches for you to spend your day catching the perfect tan on. As for Rome, it is the very heart of Italy with numerous UNESCO heritage sites scattered throughout this beautiful city. Whether you are a beach lover or history and art fanatic, you’ll love what Rome has to offer.

Episode 5
In this episode Susan ventures to Fort Lauderdale, the cruising capital of the world, before sailing to the Caribbean for more tropical fun!
Here Sue is aboard Holland America’s 5-star luxury Eurodam, on an amazing 10-night ‘Panama Canal Sunfarer voyage’ sailing from Fort Lauderdale to take in the incredible rainforest scenery of Costa Rica, HAL’s stunning private island Half Moon Cay and the gorgeous Dutch Caribbean islands of Aruba and Curacao.
Fort Lauderdale is well known for its beautiful beaches, revolutionary arts and wonderful culture. Often referred to as the “Venice of America” it is home to historical canals and a riverfront. For those looking to shop, Las Olas Boulevard is the perfect place to head.
Episode 6
Susan now sails west to the tropical beaches of Costa Rica and Panama and gets to explore one of her bucket-list destinations in this episode. On her journey she visits Costa Rica’s Tortuguero canals and gets to see local wildlife such as caimans and crocodiles basking in the sun. She also relaxes in the sea with some chilled coconut water. Back on the ship Susan enjoys a delicious three course meal at one of the ship's top restaurants and then visits the shopping galleries to view the luxury diamond jewellery and clothes on sale.
Costa Rica is a tropical paradise packed full of warm sandy beaches and beautiful natural surroundings. It is also home to a number of breathtaking mountain ranges with volcanoes to explore and tropical springs to relax in. Next to Costa Rica is Panama with the truly outstanding Panama Canal that is over 100 years old. Like its neighbour, it too is full of tropical adventures ready to be had!

Christmas Cruising with Susan Calman (Part 1 + 2)
Christmas Cruising with Susan Calman showcases a mystical, winter adventure aboard Hurtigruten’s extraordinary MS Maud. Setting sail from the bustling port of Dover, the captivating expedition vessel headed to Stavanger in Norway, before venturing to Troms in search of the Northern Lights. Along the way, Susan tours the ship, showcasing its facilities, from the restaurants to the different cabins on offer. Christmas Cruising with Susan Calman (Part 2 + 3)
Christmas Cruising with Susan Calman part 2 and 3 are all about sailing aboard AmaWaterways’ AmaMagna. Here, Susan travels along the River Danube, visiting a series of different Christmas markets and castles. In the final part of her trip, she visits the vibrant Austrian city of Salzburg, Vienna and Bratislava, getting a taste of what they all have to offer, whilst enjoying festive treats along the way.
Cruising with Susan Calman Series 2
Episode 1
The second season of Cruising with Susan Calman kicks off in Dublin, with Susan flying to the vibrant city of New York. Ahead of embarking on the cruise, Susan takes a helicopter ride across New York, taking in breathtaking views of the popular tourist destination and seeing all of the iconic sights.
Susan then boards the extraordinary Caribbean Princess, showcasing all that the ship has to offer (including its spacious cabins, restaurants and bars!) before sailing to Rhode Island and visiting Boston- where she stops by the iconic Cheers bar and Fenway Park.
Episode 2
In episode 2 of Cruising with Susan Calman, Susan continues her adventure on Caribbean Princess and heads to the picturesque Halifax in Nova Scotia that’s beloved for its natural beauty. Visiting Peggy’s Cove, with its iconic lighthouse before heading to Sept-iles that’s known for its abundance of delicious seafood, Susan’s North American and Canadian adventure aboard Caribbean Princess is an exciting start to the new season.

Episode 3
The third installment of season 2 of Cruising with Susan Calman starts in Edinburgh, with Susan taking a flight to Dubrovnik in Croatia. Cruising on the family-friendly Marella Explorer 2, she then heads to Crete, where she explores the historic town of Chania. Athens is her next destination, where she wanders around the fascinating Acropolis before venturing to Corfu for some rest and relaxation on the beach.
Exploring Marella Explorer 2, Susan gives a great insight into why the ship is suitable for those of all ages, from its wide selection of restaurants and bars, to the entertainment options it has available.
Episode 4
Continuing her journey on the Marella Explorer 2, Susan sails across the Adriatic to the upcoming, extraordinary country of Montenegro. A beautiful destination with a combination of natural and man made attractions, Susan explores the area discovering its rich historic past.
Joined by some of her shipmates, this fun-filled episode shows why so many people are now booking cruises that visit Montenegro and how this unique country is wonderful to visit regardless of the time of year.
Episode 5
The 5th episode of Cruising with Susan Calman begins with a walking tour of the bustling city of Dusseldorf, discovering all the top highlights that are must-sees. Susan then sets sail on a river cruise along the Rhine to the scenic city of Amsterdam aboard nickoSPIRIT.
Discovering all Amsterdam has to offer, including the breathtaking tulip fields, Vondelpark and Anne Frank House, it showcases why millions of people each year venture to this fascinating city,
Episode 6
Susan continues her river cruise across the Rhine aboard nickoSPIRIT, stopping in the quaint town of Marken in The Netherlands, where she explores the shops and purchases some traditional Dutch clogs. The cruise then stops off in Rotterdam, where Susan heads to Kinderdijk- a historic, World Heritage Site that’s beloved for its pretty windmills.
Next up is Nijmegan, which is said to be the oldest city in the country. The last stop in episode 6 is Bonn in Germany; famous for being the birthplace of Beethoven. Susan and a few other guests from the river cruise enjoy a walking tour of the city, with Susan at the helm.
Cruising with Susan Calman Series 3
Cruising with Susan Calman season 3 spans six episodes. The following episodes will be shown at 8pm on Friday nights. But don’t worry! If you miss the episodes or simply want to enjoy them again, Cruising with Susan Calman season 3 will also be available on My5.
Episode 1
Season 3 of Cruising with Susan Calman kicks off the new year with a splash! In episode 1, we see Susan beginning her trip in Hollywood, where she explores tinseltown and all that it has to offer before embarking on her cruising adventure aboard Carnival Radiance.
Throughout the episode, Susan ventures around the ship, taking part in a scavenger hunt, checking out the water slides and showing viewers all of the extraordinary onboard amenities. Susan then takes part in a basketball competition, before heading to Mexico where she explores La Bufadora; an impressive natural blowhole.
Episode 2
In part 1 of this incredible cruise, Susan travels to the beautiful islands of French Polynesia and Tahiti. Along the way, Susan enjoys some snorkelling, learns all about the black pearl, the conservation projects in Bora Bora and more, whilst sailing aboard Wind Spirit, a ship within Windstar Cruises' fleet.
Episode 3
Continuing her journey aboard Wind Spirit, Susan sails to the picturesque, tropical island of Mo'orea. Along the way, Susan learns how to operate the ship, visits a Bloody Mary bar and gets up to other fun activities.
Episode 4
Boarding Riviera Travel's MS Duoro Elegance, Susan travels through the beautiful Duoro Valley, starting her journey in the vibrant coastal city of Porto. Along the way, she ventures to Europe's biggest lock, takes the Porto cable car to admire views of the city and visits Salamanca, where she indulges in some traditional tapas!
Episode 5
Continuing her journey on the MS Duoro Elegance, Susan discovers the Spanish city of Salamanca, taking a riverside train journey, sampling local cuisine and venturing to a vineyard. Showcasing the breathtaking scenery, this episode isn't one you'll want to miss!
Episode 6
In episode 6, Susan boards the luxurious Scenic Eclipse in Ushuaia, Argentina where she ventures to Antarctica, passing through the Drake Passage. Along the way, Susan gets up close to seals, penguins, dolphins and other local wildlife, whilst taking in the icy landscapes and exploring all that the opulent ship has to offer.
Episode 7
Continuing her adventure on the Scenic Eclipse, in part two of the Antarctica adventure, Susan spends her time in the region kayaking with orcas, heading below the icy waters in a submarine, and visiting Tierra del Fuego National Park where she sees the 'End of the World Post Office'.

Christmas Cruising with Susan Calman
The latest installment of Christmas Cruising with Susan Calman saw the comedian heading on a festive and magical adventure to the popular Christmas destination of Lapland. Starting off the mystical journey in Stockholm, before heading to Helsinki and boarding the Santa Claus Express, this episode will get you in the Christmas spirit from the get-go.
Susan then explores the capital of Lapland, Rovaniemi, in order to catch a glimpse of Santa. Throughout the episode, you’ll see Susan helping to sort out all of the Christmas mail that comes through, meeting the reindeer, riding a snowmobile and other festive activities!
