Floating Festival- 80’s Throwback
If you’re looking to sail away in a time machine back to the 80’s, Royal Caribbean’s three day themed Floating Festival at Sea is just what you’re looking for. As well as all your favourite pin-ups and idols under one deck, Navigator of the Seas is a festival venue beyond all others. Forget glamping- this is a theme cruise that makes waves like no other music event can. With autograph sessions, shows and activities with the stars of your glory days, as well as live shows, it’s time to book your place and get your platform shoes and shades- we’re sailing back to the 80’s!
The Stars and Shows
The Human League will be there playing all your favourite songs from Fascination to Human and Don’t You Want Me, Baby! Everyone’s favourite Australian star Jason Donovan will be going back to where it all started too with his old-school hits while Pat Sharp, Chesney Hawkes, and Captain Sensible join for nostalgia and even more floor-filling favourites. Tribute acts of all those who couldn’t quite make it will also be onboard in force such as Killer Queen, Wham and Wild Boys tribute acts bringing your favourite scratched cassettes and dusty LPs from a dusty shelf and the floor of your car to a glitzy disco on the high seas.
It's a Knock Out!
BBC's popular competition show It's a Knock Out will also be featured onboard; a fantastic addition for anyone looking to let loose, have some fun and really be silly. The Studio B Ice Rink will be converted into an adventure playground, where teams will compete against each other in various different activities.
The Ship
Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas provides you with much more than a muddy field or campsite themed weekend could ever do. This is a music festival with all the luxury as standard on a cruise- with Wi-Fi access and no long queues! That means en-suite bedrooms, swimming pools and all countless other activities and facilities that make Royal Caribbean such a popular cruise line. You can also top up your energy to dance at the round the clock buffet and drop your kids off at the day-care service to really let your perms down and imagine it’s 30 years ago. There’s also a very reasonably priced drinks package for those wanting to get footloose!
The Itinerary
On Friday 12th October you'll set sail from Southampton to Zeebrugge for a day out around the medieval city of Bruges. Here you can explore the charming streets and canals, try a Belgian chocolate waffle in the gorgeous market square and take in the colourful medieval architecture. After boarding the ship again, there is another day at sea sailing back to the 80’s in style before disembarking, in the modern day and reality, in Southampton on Monday 15th.
