What is Holland America Evolution?

Holland America Evolution is an ambitious multi-year project that represents the largest fleet update in Holland America Line’s incredible history. Throughout this project, Holland America Line is investing well over $500 million to extensively refurbish six Signature and Vista Class cruise ships; Oosterdam is the first, followed by Zuiderdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Westerdam, Eurodam, and Noordam.
With each ship’s impressive array of bow-to-stern refurbishments, Holland America Line will introduce improved versions of existing Pinnacle Class experiences, alongside elements that celebrate the cruise line’s rich heritage and design changes inspired by guest feedback. So, not only will these cruise ships feel fresh following refurbishment, but they’ll also boast an improved onboard experience.

What changes are coming to Oosterdam?
Alongside shipwide refurbishments, one of the most exciting aspects of Oosterdam’s extensive Holland America Evolution improvements is the fact that every single stateroom and suite onboard is being refreshed, and you’ll also find new types of accommodation to stay in, too!
Not only will Oosterdam feature an impressive selection of refreshed Solo Verandah staterooms following its Holland America Evolution drydock, thoughtfully appointed cabins with a private veranda that have been designed specifically for solo travellers, but also a number of elevated Vista Suites. With teak-lined private verandas and a spacious living area to unwind in, these stylish suites are among the most comfortable options available aboard the reimagined Oosterdam.

Oosterdam will also debut two new Bridgeview Suites following its Holland America Evolution drydock: sprawling forward-facing suites boasting panoramic views and an oversized wraparound veranda. Offering guests over three times as much space as a Vista Suite, Oosterdam’s Bridgeview Suites are designed to maximise how much room you have to enjoy alongside your appreciation of the sensational scenery surrounding you as you sail. A venue onboard that expertly captures European café culture while highlighting Holland America Line’s fascinating Dutch heritage, Grand Dutch Café gives guests the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of Dutch food and drinks in a relaxed environment. This includes a range of Dutch and Belgian beers, a selection of speciality coffees, and classic Dutch café snacks like stoopwafels and pancakes.
