MSC Cruises’ to Offer a Brand-New Area in the Family Aventura District
In July, MSC Cruises announced that within the bustling Family Aventura District on MSC World America (which is also home to the Doremiland kids area and Sportsplex) there will be an outdoor activity area with a range of activities and experiences.
From a thrilling aquapark to a playground, ropes course and an incredible 11-storey, 90-degree dry slide, this area is the ultimate activity space for families and the first of its kind in the fleet.
Here’s a little more information about each facility:
- Jaw Drop @ The Spiral - an exhilarating 11-storey dry slide that’s situated at in the centre of the World Promenade
- Rock Climbing Wall - a fun activity that’s perfect for any thrill-seekers
- High Trail Ropes Course - spanning 577sq.m, this two-level ropes course is an adrenaline-pumping activity that’ll give you spectacular sea views
- The Harbour Lighthouse - a themed playground, it takes inspiration from the lighthouse on MSC Cruises’ Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve
- The Harbour Bar & Bites - tuck into a variety of light bites and refreshing drinks at this casual eatery
- Family Dwelling Area - full of comfortable seating, perfect for relaxing in
- Cliffhanger - this unique attraction is the first over-water swing ride at sea, towering 50 metres over the ocean
Disney Cruise Line Announces New Dining Offerings on Disney Destiny
Launching in 2025, Disney Destiny is the cruise line’s eighth cruise ship that will sit within the Triton Class. Boasting a hero and villain theme, with a variety of Disney, Pixar and Marvel characters onboard, this magical ship is bound to be a hit with children and adults alike.
This month, Disney Cruise Line announced that there will be a range of exciting dining options onboard, including an extraordinary Lion King-themed restaurant, The Incredibles-inspired Sweet Shop and more!
DCL’s Senior Vice President and General Manager, Sharon Siskie said the following about this magical new cruise ship:
“For the Disney Destiny, we will introduce brand-new cruise experiences inspired by the legends and legacies of some of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains.”
“From the dining rooms to the staterooms and everywhere in between, guests aboard our new ship will be surrounded by extraordinary storytelling paired with the signature service and family-fun adventures that are hallmarks of a Disney Cruise vacation.”
Here’s some more information about these spectacular dining experiences:
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King
This unique dining experience will feature a themed menu and extraordinary entertainment inspired by the beloved Disney classic, The Lion King. Expect musical performances, including the likes of “Hakuna Matata” and “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” whilst the venue transforms with lighting and special effects.
With incredible depictions of African wildlife alongside the live music and storytellers highlighting the hero-villain storyline, you better ‘be prepared’ for an evening of fun unlike anything you’ve experienced before. The venue itself also takes inspiration from the African savanna and the iconic Pride Lands that feature within the film.
Edna A La Mode Sweets
Next up is Edna A La Mode Sweets - a confectionary shop that’s perfect for anyone craving a sweet treat!
Taking inspiration from the iconic character’s short film - Auntie Edna, within her lab you’ll find gelato, cookies, ice cream and more, whilst being surrounded by spectacular theming.

Cafe Megara
Located off the Grand Hall, this Hercules-themed cafe will offer a selection of light bites and beverages- fit for any god or goddess!
Cafe Merida
Travel into the Scottish highlights at this casual cafe that takes inspiration from the popular film, Brave, that’s also situated just off the Grand Hall.
Iglu Wins Cruise Agency of the Year
On the 11th January at an event held at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel, Iglu was awarded Cruise Agency of the Year (Large) at the annual Travel Weekly’s Agent Achievement Awards.
An excellent achievement, Chief Commercial Officer Dave Mills had the following to say about the award:
"I am so pleased for the team - this is what can happen when you live, breathe and sweat the right values!"
