The Tuesday directly after Black Friday (What is Black Friday?) is the fifth Tuesday in November and internationally recognised as Giving Tuesday. This is a day dedicated to charitable fundraising and encourages acts of kindness before the Christmas shopping season gets into full swing.

Many individuals, companies or organisations support Giving Tuesday through good deeds, charitable work and creative fundraising efforts for their favourite charities.

This year the Iglu Cruise team are supporting Mercy Ships by donating £1 for every passenger booked on Giving Tuesday.

Mercy Ships

Mercy Ships operate a fleet of ships that have been transformed into floating charity hospitals. Since the organisation was founded in 1978, the Mercy Ships fleet has visited more than 400 ports in developing countries, providing first world healthcare to those in need.

The ships are staffed with volunteer healthcare professionals and through multiple port visits are able to supply developing nations with free basic healthcare and lifesaving surgeries.  The volunteer crew offer hope as well as emotional, physical and spiritual healing to people who have no other source of help.
