Six star cruise line Regent Seven Seas is well known and loved for the all-inclusive nature of its cruises; they boast unlimited shore excursions, unlimited premium spirits, pre-paid gratuities, free WiFi, and more all inlcuded in your fare. The newest ship in the fleet, Seven Seas Explorer is trademarked as 'the most luxurious ship ever built'. She graces the seas with the highest guest-to-space ratio ever seen in the cruise industry, plus the largest suite balconies of any cruise ship.

But what makes Regent Seven Seas Explorer the most luxurious ship at sea? Our Direct Marketing Manager, Becci and Events Manager, Ellen, find out. Speaking of their travels from Venice to Corfu, Becci shares her diary of their fabulous time onboard.

Day 1

We arrived at the cruise port to the impressive sight of three cruise ships - one of course being our luxurious home for two nights; Seven Seas Explorer. After a stress-free embarkation, we boarded the ship and enjoyed a chilled glass of bubbly whilst we booked our evening meals with the friendly concierge team. With so many choices of speciality restaurants, we couldn’t choose and so asked which ones they would recommend to us; Prime 7 and Pacific Rim. We booked these, and then headed out eager to see the sights. Of course, when in Venice you have to indulge in a gondola ride – it would have been rude not to! We took the water taxi from the cruise port into Venice, and before we knew it we were sailing through the beautiful canalways of Venice.

Sailing out of Venice aboard Seven Seas Explorer at sunset was something we’ll never forget; the colours of the sky, mixed with the views of the whole of Venice from up on deck is something that cannot be replicated anywhere else.

After a few cocktails to toast our goodbyes to Venice, we made our way to Prime 7 - known for its sublime steak. The surf and turf tasted so good, it’s difficult to put into words! The steak just melted in our mouths and the lobster was cooked to perfection – we both highly recommend it. After dinner, we retreated to the Observation Lounge, and indulged in a couple of post-dinner cocktails accompanied by melodic piano music; what an end to our first day experiencing Regent Seven Seas.

Day 2

We can’t deny how comfy the beds are onboard, so much so that even getting out of bed for our breakfast on the balcony was a struggle. One thing we loved was the option to order your breakfast the night before and have it delivered to you the next morning at your desired time, served out on your balcony - heaven. We enjoyed a delicious selection of breakfast items (our eyes were bigger than our bellies unfortunately), whilst sailing into the port of Dubrovnik. The excursions on offer were superb; coaches lined up one after the other to take fellow passengers off onto their chosen adventures. After taking the complimentary shuttle bus into the old town, we explored the city walls and took in the views of the harbour at our own pace.

Back onboard and with many passengers still out on their excursions, we made the most of the ship being quiet and decided to try out the spa - Canyon Ranch Spa Club. With a sauna, steam room, snow room, a mood shower and heated recliners, we were certainly not disappointed. The thing that topped it all off for us was the beautiful infinity pool at the back of the ship, just outside the spa.

Dinner tonight was at Pacific Rim, the superb Asian-infused restaurant onboard. Tucking in to delicious crispy duck, beef tartare, duck spring rolls, lobster, and deep-fried asparagus, we were also recommended some of the finest wines to complement our food; a nice touch. We made our way to the Constellation Theatre to watch a musical ‘Parisian,’ performance and once again retreated to the Observation Lounge for a few cocktails. Arriving just in time for the music quiz, we joined in with a lovely couple from the USA to try and win some great prizes. We didn’t win (unsurprisingly), but as the music got going and the dancefloor slowly started filling up, we couldn’t resist a bit of dancing.

Day 3

Waking up to the blissful sunshine in Corfu was spectacular, and a hearty breakfast on the balcony of La Veranda started off our morning perfectly. Today was our last day on board, so we made the most of the weather and spent a couple of hours around the pool area -sunbathing, swimming, and taking a nice long soak in the Jacuzzi. It was so relaxing – and a great end to our unforgettable time on board. We were sad to disembark, but all good things must come to an end as they say!
