ITV star and Catchphrase host Stephen Mulhern is going back to his roots this summer with an all new magic show. Created along with co-producer Jonathan Wilkes, new show “Astonishing” promises to be bigger and better than anything seen before aboard P&O’s ships. Starting out in showbiz as a street magician himself before moving fully into tele, Stephen is one of ITV’s most loved and recognised faces today. First taught magic by his dad and performing since he was eleven, Stephens’ magical journey has gone full circle with Astonishing.

Charming cruisers on P&O ships Azura, Britannia and Ventura from the summer of 2018 and beyond, Astonishing will leave you spell bound in forty-five minutes of dazzlingly brilliant virtual reality, illusion, daring choreography and ingenious audience participation that is sure to leave you with goose bumps. Astonishing challenges its cast members to pull off classic stunts and tricks in new ways- with even a fiendishly tense stunt out of Houdini’s own magic playbook!  This is no cheesy Punch and Judy show or run-of-the-mill magician magic act. Astonishing is a full-blown, arena pleasing performance that could end up on the Royal Variety after high praise by those lucky enough to see the star-studded premier in Southampton aboard Britannia.

In addition, Mulhern and Wilkes have enlisted world-renowned choreographer, having previously worked with Elton John and Kylie Minogue, Paul Domaine and his ensemble cast of dancers and performers to bring energy and mobility to magic like never before. Meanwhile, master illusionist Guy Barnett will take the reins in delivering truly astonishing tricks of the eye and mischief that’ll leave the packed audiences on P&O’s ships absolutely spellbound. It’s big, it’s ambitious and it’s truly Astonishing!

Stephen’s new show is far from the first time P&O have teamed up with British TV stars to create fantastic cruise experiences. From Food Heroes and Strictly Come Dancing theme cruises to Ant and Dec filming an episode of Takeaway onboard Britannia, P&O consistently brings top British talent onboard for your entertainment. This isn’t the first time Stephen Mulhern has charmed P&O cruisers with his magic either, as he wowed P&O fans by revealing the name of their newest addition to the fleet, Iona, which you can see once more in the video below. Meanwhile, if you’d like to pre-register for more information on P&O Iona, set to be released in 2020, you can do so by clicking here.
