Starting on August 14th 2023, The Cruise: Fun Loving Brits in the Sun follows three groups of holidaymakers enjoying a cruise around the Mediterranean. Screening on Channel 5, the guests explore destinations such as Rome, Naples and Athens, giving viewers a taste of what it’s like to visit these extraordinary cities.

Spanning 20 episodes, the programme is set to run throughout the week for four weeks and will look at different aspects of cruising, from the various activities and amenities onboard to seeing what there is to do in each of the destinations.

Throughout the first week of the show, after the different guests explore the different destinations, they board Regal Princess. Part of the incredible Princess Cruises fleet, they will explore all that the ship has to offer, including the likes of the Fountain Pool, Princess Theatre and dining options. With so much on offer around the ship for all ages, it’s clear that all the guests on the programme will find something to suit.

Each of the cruises last a week, with some of the guests on the programme being new to cruising, showcasing to viewers what it’s like to experience a cruise onboard a cruise ship; from embarking the ship to exploring it and disembarking it at the end of the week.

Here’s what happens in the first five episodes!

Episode 1: Rome - 14th August 2023

Throughout the first episode, the guests visit the Trevi fountain, try delicious traditional Italian gelato and visit the fascinating Ancient Roman battle camp, where the little ones learn what it takes to be a Roman soldier. After exploring Rome, the guests board the ship ready to see all of Regal Princess’ attractions, alongside the accommodation. In the evening, they spend their time enjoying mini golf, cocktails and more, before heading to bed before a day of discovering their next destination - Naples.

Episode 2: Naples - 15th August 2023

In the second episode, Regal Princess docks in the historic and scenic city of Naples. Throughout their time in Naples, the guests fully immerse themselves into the local culture, including exploring the ancient foundations of the city, learning how to dance the ‘Tarantella’ (a traditional native folk dance), trying vegan gelato and other fun activities. Sightseeing throughout Naples, it not only showcases the birthplace of margherita pizza, but gives viewers the chance to learn about Naples’ myths and legends.

Episode 3: Crete - 16th August 2023

The Cruise: Fun Loving Brits in the Sun continues with a stop off in Crete. As Regal Princess arrives in the Port of Heraklion, the beautiful capital of Crete, the guests explore the breathtaking beaches throughout the island, discover the myth of the minotaur and enjoy other activities around the capital city before heading back onboard the ship.

Episode 4: Turkey - 17th August 2023

The next stop is the picturesque resort of Kusadasi which is situated on the breathtaking Aegean coast in Turkey. Throughout the episode, the guests head out to the bazaars, see what it’s like to experience the traditional Turkish baths and see all of the incredible Turkish carpets. An immersive look into Turkish culture and history, it’s exciting from start to finish!

Episode 5: Mykonos- 18th August 2023

In the fifth episode, Regal Princess docks at the stunning island of Mykonos. Known for its white and blue buildings, windmills and its vibrant nightlife, Mykonos is a beautiful way to end the week, before enjoying the last night on Regal Princess.
