River Cruises Return
Updated Wednesday 23rd March 2021
As life begins to return to normal and we look forward to seeing more of the world again, river cruises are also planning their return to the water. With guest and crew health and safety at the forefront, the spacious ships and smaller guest capacity, as well as enhanced hygiene protocols, mean that river cruises are a great way to escape the day to day and enjoy a relaxing holiday on some of the world's most iconic waterways.

What To Expect During Your Cruise
As river cruise ships get ready to welcome guests and crew back onboard, there will be some changes to the experience. While each line will have their own protocols, there are similarities between the measures that will be introduced. To make sure that guests are well enough to travel, many river cruise lines require a mandatory medical questionnaire to be completed prior to the cruise, and undergo screening before boarding, with cruise companies reserving the right to deny guests boarding. Once onboard, enhanced measures include:
- More frequent sanitation of public areas, staterooms, hand railings and other high touch point surfaces
- Removal of self-service buffets
- Rigorous training for crew members
