This Week's Top 10 Cruise Deals — 14 Dec '11
Dave Mills appears to be filling most of our column space at the moment with his Top Ten blogs and his recent Star Clippers. Today he takes us through to top cruise deals on the site.
Here’s the low down on the penultimate Top 10 before we break for Christmas.
Firstly we have something for anyone who’s not yet got their New Year’s Eve celebrations planned &mash; why not join the Oceana for a 12 night cruise to the Canary Islands sunshine, from Southampton for just £799 pp? Lucky passengers will enjoy a day soaking up the sunshine in Tenerife before a full evening seeing in the new year — complete with all manner of New Year celebrations!
Next up, is another ‘fresh out the oven’ offer on Fred Olsen’s popular Braemar. This 15 night Caribbean sailing in the New Year features a fantastically varied range of ports including Cuba (where the ship overnights), which isn’t frequently featured on standard Caribbean itineraries. Prices start from just £999 pp, including flights from Gatwick or Manchester. Upgrade to oceanview for just £59 pp.
Some exotic exploration comes next, with Azamara Quest’s Southeast Asian sailing from Hong Kong to Singapore, including hotel nights in both these fab destinations. We’ve just put an exclusive package together on this one, meaning the price has come down to £2499 pp, including flights, hotels and transfers.
Next up, is a sailing returning to the Top 10, as a few more cabins have been added — including a few singles. This sailing from Genoa to Cape Town on MSC Melody for 18 nights comes in at £1049 pp — with no supplement at all for single passengers, which is very rare at the moment. Sails 20th Feb 2012, price includes all flights and transfers.
Here’s another longer, but great value cruise — and one which has just been reduced in price. Again including flights and transfers, 22 nights on P&O Cruises' Oriana from San Francisco to Southampton via Panama and the Caribbean, now comes in from £1499 pp. As an extra special offer for all iglucruise passengers, we’re also offing a free Kindle to all bookers on this one. Departs 19 March 2012.
Returning from last weeks Top 10, as we’ve only got three days left at this price is the 11 night spectacular Barbados Caribbean sailing on the Royal Clipper. This is a tall ship sailing experience with all the convenience and high quality service of a luxury cruise. Being a smaller ship carrying around 200 passengers, you’ll visit tiny islands, unspoiled beaches are charming yachting harbours which larger cruise ships can get nowhere near. Plus the majority of the time you’ll be under sail which is a wonderful experience. Departs 20th March 2012, 11 nights with flights coming in at £1799 — only available with Iglucruise.
Another deal new today, Cunard have just further reduced this 14 night Mediterranean Delights itinerary to £1199 pp on Queen Victoria. Balconies have been reduced even further to £1499 (which is a free upgrade from an outside). Sails from Southampton on the 21st April 2012.
Also departing on the 21st April is this 11 night Canary Isles sailing on Grand Princess from Southampton. This one has just been reduced by a whopping £300 pp, so now comes in at £899 for an inside stateroom, with balconies available for £1199 (which was the inside price). Exclusively for Iglucruise passengers we’re offering $75 per stateroom to spend onboard. This offer is part of Princess Cruises annual cruise sale.
Another exclusive follows, this time on Celebrity Eclipse sailing from Southampton. We’re offering a bonus $100 spending money for all Scandinavia and Russia sailings, which feature a varied ‘Baltic Capitals’ itinerary including an overnight stay in St Petersburg. Exclusive prices start from £1199 for an inside, £1699 pp for a balcony stateroom — based on the 26th May sailing. All cruises on Celebrity Eclipse from Southampton also include free car parking or regional coach pick up.
Lastly comes something for 2013 — In search of the Northern Lights from Tilbury on Marco Polo. All Northern Lights cruises for 2012 sold out long ago, so anyone wishing to marvel at this phenomena could do worse than reserving a cabin early on this one. The deposit is just £175 pp, but bookers will need to get in early. Inside cabins on this 14 night sailing departing on Valentines Day 2013 start at £1069 pp, outsides starting at £1469 pp. What could be a more romantic gift!
