We analysed the most visited cities in Europe and used data from TripAdvisor to determine the percentage of restaurants that offer vegan options. Heraklion, Crete, ranks as the top vegan-friendly city in Europe, with 22.9% of its restaurants offering vegan options. Traditional Cretan foods include white bean soup, which is a national dish of Greece, and there is also a significant emphasis on “Nistisima”, foods suitable for religious fasting that do not contain meat, dairy or eggs.
